Who is Alison Ogden?
Los Angeles-based, Nashville "born" artist Alison Ogden is a powerful force to be reckoned with. Alison Ogden is an upbeat and fierce RnB/Pop vocalist originally from the Eastern Shore of Maryland, featured on Season 21 of ABC's American Idol. Her honey-coated, sensual vocals are clearly rooted in her inspirations in the likes of Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Queen, and Aretha Franklin. Comparable to no one, Alison Ogden is the next pop superstar, with the perfect range of vulnerability to sass.
My Story
Growing up in an EXTREMELY small town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, my dream of a successful career in the music industry was not always one that was understood or supported. I was fortunate to have such a strong support system in my family, but the avenues to success in such a rural town, were not always there.
I started singing as soon as I could talk, and the first thing I said I wanted to be when I grew up was a recording artist. My entire life, I’ve never wavered, after being constantly told to play it safe and secure a backup plan. As the years have gone by I’ve come to learn, the people who have told me to have something to fall back on aren’t the people who are willing to risk everything to be happy. In my world, backup plans are nothing more than an excuse to take the easy way out, which is something I have never done and will never do. Since three, my joy has come from constant engagement in theater, dance, vocal training, and countless performances in any venue I could find. Whether it was involvement through school or extracurricular, little Alison was always the first person to sign up. Drive like this is what brought me to be able to perform in Disney’s Candlelight Processional alongside Jodie Benson, attend Belmont University’s renowned School of Music, be a contestant on Season 21 of ABC’s American Idol, and so much more. Having the opportunity to work alongside such seasoned professionals in the music industry has solidified how much my career in RnB/Pop Music means to me and how capable I am of achieving my dreams. I am willing to do whatever it takes to show little Alison who wasn’t sure she was going to find her place in this world, that she is more than capable to do what she’s always dreamed of. Looking back it is remarkable I have created as many opportunities for myself as I have, and that I've been blessed enough to experience my career in two of the largest music cities in the world: Nashville, TN and Los Angeles, CA.
